Wedding Cake Alternatives
There’s no denying the elegance and impact of a layered or tiered, buttercream or fondant wedding cake. But, for those of you who are not particularly fond of this traditional wedding dessert, or for those of you who prefer to make a more non-traditional statement on your big day, there are alternative desserts out there for you.
Here are some of the more popular, up and coming, non-traditional wedding desserts to serve as an alternative to cake.
1. Pies-Pies are essentially an all-American dessert and have been around for decades. Set out a number of different pies for your guests to choose from on a decorative table and you have yourself a classic, budget-friendly alternative to cake.
2. Donuts-Glamour Magazine said that these handheld desserts will soon surpass cupcakes in trendiness because of their versatility and endless flavor combinations. Donuts can also be stacked and displayed in a number of different ways to add to your big day.
3. Ice Cream-What isn’t to love about this cool, refreshing dessert? It can be set up as a build your own sundae bar or served in little cones. This treat is a great compliment to any spring or summer wedding.
4. Candy Bar-Put some of the favorite candies of the bride and groom on display in decorative jars and let guests make their own goodie bags.
Happy Planning, dolls!

My daughter thought that she would have cupcakes, because she didn’t want a bunch of cake leftover. On the other hand I never really thought about pie. Her groom isn’t a fan of cake, but he loves pie. I will pass this idea along to her. Thanks
