Color Me Happy

I recently spent time in baby heaven, planning a sweet party for the coming of a beautiful bundle of joy; my thematic inspiration….hues upon hues of bright, gorgeous color!

SMALL payday loans VERY CHEAP

Now Easter is over, spring is finally here to stay and bright colors are readily in bloom. And, as my inspiration for the darling baby shower, I’ve decided that I can’t get enough of bold colors! It adds so much warmth to a room and entices feelings of happiness…I can’t help but smile when I see a bouquet of multi-colored, fresh flowers or a table decorated with a colorful and savory dessert selection. And, though color is frequently used in baby showers and other social events, it is much less often incorporated into wedding schemes. The use of many colors can sometimes be overwhelming, so I’ve compiled my inspirations on how to take a colorful wedding from over-the-top to the perfect proportions!

A multi-colored wedding bouquet is always a welcomed use of color.

This individually portioned cake is a unique way to use many different bright colors. YUM!!

The contrast of the white table cloth with the colorful topper is absolutely striking.

The cool tones of the bridesmaids dresses complements the use of bright bouquets.

Try this color-crazed MAC palette for the perfect wedding makeup.

Different colored boutonnières and matching socks for the groomsmen….I love how clever this is!

A different shade Manolo Blahnik for each of your bridesmaids…your ladies will definitely want to re-wear these beauties!

This colorful hair pin will be the perfect addition to any bride’s up-do.

Don’t forget color for the little future brides-to-be!

Sprinkle Themed Baby Shower

I stumbled upon this ultra chic and modern baby shower theme from Chic Cheap Nursery  and 6th Street Design School that I just had to pass along.

You can have similar invites designed, keep decor minimal with “sprinkles” of confetti here and there. The menu can be determined by what you’re feeling or you can go above and beyond and stick to the “sprinkle” theme.

I just thought this was a simple and cute way to throw a baby shower. No need to stress on themes, this is cute, chic and super easy.

Dessert Tables 101

My love for dessert tables is directly correlated with my love for desserts. People come and go, but desserts have never left me. :) And, because my love for desserts is eternal, so is my love for a perfectly designed dessert table. Here are some great ways to liven up your dessert table for a baby shower, bridal shower, birthday, or any special event for that matter. Take a look!

I loved that this citrus dessert table was anchored by a decorative citrus tree. It doesn’t have to be a citrus tree, but having your dessert table anchored by a big centerpiece will really make it stand out.

I loved all of the paper flowers and lanterns above this table. You can also make these paper flowers or buy your own. Also, notice the cake pops on the stripped straws in the back right corner? The cutest.

For a more rustic and vintage feel, place your desserts on a distressed desk or table.

I loved the simple colors in this table and that there were signs behind the table. These are either giant frames or mirrors with signs over them.

I loved the glittery table cloth on this dessert table so much. It really makes it stand out. And the added fringe above it really ties together all of the colors.

A simple sign can also always do the trick!

Monique & Michael’s Gender Revealing Baby Shower

A few weeks ago I planned and styled a gender revealing party to celebrate this adorable couple welcoming their first baby girl to their family. The couple wanted to make the revealing of their baby’s gender an exciting celebration for all their loved ones. The  shower was filled with special handcrafted creations, including an adorable gender revealing cake and mini cupcakes. From the custom designed paper goods to the baby booties cake topper, the details of the décor were absolutely perfect. The theme was tied together with oversized balloon-shaped baby bottles, gorgeous linens, and pretty Tiffany inspired boxes filled with soft pink dahlias arrangements.  Guests enjoyed delectables off of the delicious menu from The Herb Box along with a champagne bar and yummy dessert table filled with sweet treats.

While the ladies opened presents, the gentlemen were in another room having their own fun ;)

Yep, those are baby bottles ;)

The adorable mama-to-be…

Time for the revealing!

I LOVE Monique’s expression here, how cute!!

It’s a GIRL!!

Sweetest picture of the day….

Thank you Mike & Monique for allowing me to be a part of such a special time in your life, I am truly honored. xo.

{Inspiration} Chalk it up

Needing some signage for your next event? Wether it be for a wedding reception, bridal shower, engagement party, baby shower or a cocktail party, you can’t go wrong with a chalkboard sign. You can buy chalkboard signs at almost any crafting store, or you can always do it yourself with some plywood, chalkboard paint, and a cute frame.

Chalkboard signs are a great way to display food, welcome guests and they can also make for some super chic table numbers.  You can also get creative and use colored chalks to have a little more fun with it.

Chalkboard signs are so easy to make and use for any upcoming event.

‘About to Pop’ Baby Shower

Needing a cute baby shower idea? Look no further! Have an “About to Pop” theme complete with a popcorn bar with fun flavors or gender revealing colors.

Although popcorn might not seem like a very exciting treat for a shower, you can get really creative with the flavors, set up and accompanying drinks and other food. All photos courtesy of Pinterest.

Say Cheese: Photo booths are here to stay

The popular trend of having a photo booth at your wedding isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Photo booths are a fun and memorable way for the bride, groom and attendees to document the big day. A lot of people include fun props in their photo booths like glasses, mustaches and hats to liven up the photos and make them more unique. Depending on your decor and theme of your wedding, you could include matching decor.

Photo booths are above all else, way too fun to pass up! Consider adding one to your reception, you won’t be sorry you did.

Monogrammed With Love

Images Via: Beau-coup, Elizabeth Anne Designs, Oh So Beautiful Paper

Monogramming is definitely making a comeback with its simplicity and elegance.  Today there are endless options and styles for monogrammed gifts, decorations and even personalized stationary and invitations.

Try embroidering chairs, baby bibs, and blankets for your home.  Monogrammed desserts, and cakes add a classy decorative touch without going over the top.  And initialed candles, mugs, vases and bags make for great gifts.  It’s hard to beat a gift that is personalized to the individual :-)

The best part is that tons of websites have popped up that make ordering monogrammed gifts extra simple and fast. Some of our favorite sites include, Polkadots StationeryGifts In 24, and Pottery Barn.  You can even do it yourself! Practice your calligraphy skills and create your own monogrammed items.  Whether you make the extra effort to “DIY” or take the simple route, monogramming adds style to the most simple objects.
